Active Soil Depressurization
Active soil depressurization or ASD as it is also known is by far one of the most popular methods we can offer when it comes to radon mitigation and control. This system is easy to install, even easier to maintain, and it provides a level of radon control and extraction that will more than meet your expectations. The system can be tailored to suit any job, and we are yet to come across a client who is not blown away by what this solution can offer. To help you see the value it can provide, we would like to share some more information with you.
How It Works The real genius of this system lies in its general simplicity. Traditionally the industry has over-complicated the solutions required for radon removal and control. This is not the case when it comes to active soil depressurization. This system works by actively drawing out the air and gas below your slab or vapor barrier. This is then transported and expelled via an outlet pipe which emerges about 4 inches above your home or business's roofline. It is amazing what one can do with a bit of PVC piping and some clever thinking. Want to know more? Then give us a call. Testing Before we are given the final go-ahead to install your ASD system, we need to conduct a few tests to firstly see if it is suited for the project, and secondly determine if the ASD system will be able to extract the gas through your concrete slab. These tests are called pressure field communication tests and should give us the best indication of what we are dealing with. Should we find that ASD is not the ideal solution for your radon removal needs, you can rest assured we will be ready with a plan B. The Steps Now we are not going to share all our secrets with you when it comes to our installation methods, but we do feel it is important to give you a general idea of what to expect so that you can plan the rest of your life accordingly. Firstly we drill a suction hole for the suction pipe. This pipe will then extend to your home or business's roof allowing the gases to escape safely. We will then start to install the fan, electrical components, and discharge pipe. This is all we are willing to share and to know more, you will have to give us a call. Safety Is Everything Besides the obvious safety issues one can experience from having too much radioactivity in the air surrounding you, one also needs to make sure you take great care when installing and maintaining these systems. The last thing anybody needs is an unforeseen incident, and to ensure this never happens on any project we are working on, we have strict safety procedures and measures in place. We will not stray from them no matter the situation, and not only will you have the best ASD system in ton, but you will also have by far the safest. |
